Process Engineer

Job title: Process Engineer (24 months contract)

Salary: £ 42,132

What you'll be doing:
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry standard controls that ensure long term process stability, including: Lean Principles, Process Control Plans, PFMEAs; plus awareness of Programmable Logic Controls and Visual Management Systems on automated process lines
  • Specify and qualify new equipment, often working with suppliers to meet tight deadlines. Ensure all process equipment meets regulatory and safety standards, Lead and support project activities, to include process reviews, capability studies, and Safe System of Work
  • Coordinate development activities to establish supporting data that ensures the manufacturing processes are based on a sound understanding of the materials which are being processed and the technology adopted for the plant and equipment
  • Coordinate and manage a project data file capturing process and design information; to include, trials data, process definition (including drawings and specifications), certification and safety data. This data is to be controlled through the company's Product Lifecycle Management system
  • Keep informed of general manufacturing technologies and assist in the development of future technology plans to support the Company objectives
    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:
    • Minimum HNC / HND Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or equivalent
    • A good understanding of project/ risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniques
    • Awareness of automated controls on process lines
    • Knowledge of process safety and risk assessments
      Desirable:
      • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of materials processing and knowledge in manufacturing in a High Hazard environment
      • IOSH Managing Safety / NEBOSH Certificate
      • Green Belt Six Sigma
      • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of working in high volume manufacturing

        The Engineering team:

        As a Process Engineer you will be responsible for the development of manufacturing processes from concept through to commissioning and qualification. Specific duties will include the identification and management of process technical requirements, provision of expertise into the risk management process, provision of engineering support to the tendering process, implementation of Safe System of Work in line with Company and Statutory requirements and the technical management of the commissioning and qualification process.
