What you'll be doing:
- Ensuring that test and evaluation processes are carried out safely by identifying and understanding process risks and implementing the necessary controls to ensure process risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)
- Managing the Basis of Safety for processes at our Test and Evaluation sites
- Assuming Process Technical Authority (PTA) appointment as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for test and evaluation processes in support of the Basis of Safety
- Producing clear and concise written process control documents i.e. Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Control Plans, (PCP), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and work instructions for test and evaluation processes
- Planning and designing methods to improve efficiency and product quality by utilizing Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and working as a member of a cross functional team
- Interrogating plant/ equipment and product technical specifications and drawings along with working to improve equipment availability in collaboration with Facilities department
- Liaising with Product & Process Engineering to develop and certify process control trilogy
- Producing technical specifications for new/ replacement equipment, and supporting the trials and commissioning on process and test equipment
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Qualification(s) in an engineering discipline (Science or Engineering degree, HNC, HND) or time served in an Engineering discipline
- Experience within a test and evaluation environment of a similarly highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices, etc.)
- Ability to produce clear and concise written/ visual instructions
Desirable:
- Operate within a multi-functional team and manage individual workloads and priorities
- Six Sigma Green Belt qualification with a desire to achieve Black Belt
- Possession of an IOSH Managing Safely certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

Join us in the growing area of Test & Evaluation, a key part of the newly formed Defence Solution Business, the team are a growing multi-functional team, focussed on delivery of test and evaluation services for its wide ranging customer base, working to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. Your role as a process engineer will report directly to the technical manager and you will work closely with our safety, high hazard, engineers and technicians and play a critical part of driving process excellence on a range of test processes.
