What you'll be doing:
- POC for Combat Systems Comms
- Support and provide technical overview to the EM & Principal
- Plan & execute system specific tasks in line with programme dates
- Mentor and assist in the development of designated Engineer to Comms (inclusive of attached Early Careers)
- Articulated communication capability when liaising across the BAE Programme Disciplines and other Stakeholders
- Technical input to Engineer Change Board (ECB) with Change Tasks completion thereafter and preparation for modelling
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Ideally degree Qualified in a STEM related subject or commensurate experience
- Professional Registration (IET, ENCOSSE, etc) or willing to work towards
- Working experience with Combat Systems or Naval Communication/ Networks Systems
Desirable:
- Experience of Integrated Communications System in a Naval environment
- Experience of Physical integration during the design lifecycle in a Naval environment. Technical dissection and understanding of VFI & TDP's

BAE Combat Systems River Class Destroyer (Canada) - Comms/ IMS/ UWW
This team is a multitude of areas covering Internal & External Comms, Combat Systems Networks and Under Water Warfare.
Canada has selected the BAE Systems Type 26 Global Combat Ship (GCS) design for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) under a subcontract from Lockheed Martin Canada (LMCa). BAE Systems is the Warship designer for a 15 ship programme for the Royal Canadian Navy in an initial three year contract. Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is the nominated shipbuilder within Canada.
You'll be part of a technical team of engineers, involved in various engineering activities such as managing technical issues, defining and updating technical risks, managing and leading configuration control including technical document base-lines.
This role will involve interfacing with a variety of Internal and External stakeholders at various levels including suppliers, operations/ production, detailed designers and the customer, whilst continually maintaining quality. In addition, there is the opportunity to attend in country meetings/ workshops in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
