Location: Portsmouth Naval Base - Onsite only
Salary: Up to £41,500 (dependent on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:

Being part of the Team delivering T45 PIPKeep and future operational support to the Royal Navy

Overseeing the completion of daily ship-keeping duties and keep alive system requirements
-
Oversight of system isolations with consideration of broader operational impact and potential service disruptions

Driving continuous process improvements and performance metrics to enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency
-
Supporting Line Management in daily team operations, including meeting participation, team deployment coordination, and delivery of technical guidance
Your skills and experiences:
-
Electro-mechanical and technical experience with an in-depth understanding of ship systems and equipment, including the ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions

Experience as a permit issuer/ controller/ authorised person (Detailed understanding of BRd167)

Will have achieved Royal Navy Leading Hand Engineering Technician or above or civilian equivalent

Thorough knowledge of all SSoW, Processes & electrical safety and testing

Experience of using computer based digital tools, as well as MS365 applications (Word, Teams, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.)

The Ship Service Technicians team:
The Ships Services Team delivers around-the-clock support to vessels in both short, and long-term maintenance. By assuming Care & Protection responsibilities, the team enables Royal Navy crews to redeploy elsewhere. Each ship is supported by a Team Manager, Senior Technicians, and up to 20 Technicians depending on vessel size. The team oversees all Safe Systems of Work, ensuring strict adherence to Company processes and safeguarding personnel, equipment, and ship structure, while effectively managing all assigned activities to meet delivery timelines, cost targets, and quality standards
