Job Title: Systems Integrations Engineer (Sub-systems support)

Salary: Up to £56,140 dependent on skills and experiences

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the definition and development of the system and sub-system interconnect solutions

• Working with other engineers in detailed electronic sub-system and circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and liaising with PCB design teams

• Leading system integration activities

• Applying knowledge and technical skills together with general engineering experience to solve technical issues as they arise

• Ensuring that the design complies with all appropriate safety legislation and key customer requirements

  Your skills and experiences:

  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a strongly related subject and or proven experience

  • Proven expertise in electronic design from component to system level, including digital (processors, memory, PLD, UART, SPI, I²C, Ethernet), analogue (op-amps, transistor-level, control loops, low-noise), ADC/ DAC, cabling/ interconnects, and high-power techniques, with experience in developing designs for volume production

  • Experience of design proving activities to ensure compliance against environmental requirements including EMC

  • Strong track record in design proving, integration, and defect resolution, with expertise in generating evidence for acceptance, compliance, and safety assurance

  • Rigorous approach to the safety aspects associated with high power/ high voltage equipment

  • Previous experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment is desirable

    As the Systems Integrations Engineer (Sub-systems support) you will support the experts shaping the future of torpedo systems, a hands-on technical role in electronic and electrical hardware design at sub-system level.
