Job Title: Senior Thermal Modelling Engineer

Location: Warton

Salary: £47,683+ dependent upon skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting delivery of the team objectives in accordance with time, cost and quality
  • Lead thermal analysis activities for aircraft assemblies and subsystems
  • Develop high-fidelity finite element models and perform thermal simulations
  • Correlate analytical models with test data
  • Responsible for applying relevant engineering and design standards and processes

    Your skills and experiences:

    • Degree STEM subject (Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Modelling) or equivalent experience/ product expertise
    • An understanding of the overall systems engineering lifecycle
    • Experience working within a large, complex, multi-project environment
    • Proficiency with FEA and thermal analysis tools
    • Strong understanding of heat transfer and materials behaviour

      The Air Thermal Engineering Capability Team:

      Join a growing team of seven specialists at the core of BAE Systems Air Thermal Engineering capability. Reporting to a Lead Engineer and Technologist, the team covers electromagnetics, LO, and thermal modelling, supporting advanced flight systems and vehicle design for customers including the MOD, DSTL, and GCAP partners.

      This is a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with opportunities to lead project areas, influence design outcomes, and grow into future leadership roles.
