Job Title: Systems Architect
Location: Portsmouth - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £80k depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
• Direct, lead and participate in Combat System architecting activities including workshops and formal meetings as required by the customer
• Take ownership of architectural; solution, guidance, specification and standards provision, lead others when allocated as Task/ Team lead
• Engage and manage stakeholders, lead and participate in systems analysis, production of conceptual and logical architecture models, reference architectures, specifications and standards
• Keep up to date with latest systems architecture patterns, techniques, and associated industry technologies (including Combat Systems)
• Proactively define architecture policies and apply best practice, help grow architectural team maturity over time, maintain and manage architectural models and documents
• Deliver high quality outputs to time and budget
• Motivate and inspire colleagues - creating architecture where purpose, and the mechanism for adherence by others is clearly understood and realised
Your skills and experience:
Essential:
• Experienced architect, familiar with leading as required and providing architecture solutions in complex system domains
• Experienced in the creation and application of effective use of systems thinking and architecture principles and definition to understand, analyse and describe a System-of-Interest (SoI) in its context, and to define the behaviour, structure, and interfaces of a System-of-Interest
• Experienced in architecting at the system level, underpinned using a suitable framework, (e.g. NAF, UAF), selected modelling language (e.g. SySML, Archimate) and selected tools (e.g. Cameo, Enterprise Architect)
• Experienced in running workshops as required, and working at System-of-Systems (SoS) and Enterprise level
Desirable:
• Experience of delivering systems analysis and simulation for the MOD, Naval Ships, and / or security classification contexts

The NCSISS (Naval Combat Systems Integration Support Service) Team:
As part of this role, you will provide strategic direction and alignment for all NCSISS related architecting tasking streams, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team.
The MISC located on Portsdown Hill, is a specialist facility providing vital support for Royal Navy warships whilst researching future Combat Systems and Technologies. Shaped like a Type 45 destroyer, the MISC is a unique building that now benefits from new facilities including a state-of-the-art visualisation suite. The site offers a range of staff amenities, including a modern canteen with outdoor seating that offers spectacular views across Hampshire's rolling countryside, a pool table and a gym.
