Job Title: Typhoon Avionic Test Engineer

Location: Warton - On site

Salary: £47,683+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

Performing systems integration rig testing of typhoon avionics system packages, generating rig test logs and ensuring rig equipment configuration is correct and maintained

Meeting the requirements of the Avionics System team and other key stakeholders, and ensuring accurate reports are produced and delivered

Identifying, isolating, re-testing and reporting on Typhoon avionic system problems

Focal point throughout prescribed test activity, leading a small team of SI test engineers operating one of the SI Rigs based at Warton

Coaching and supporting less experienced members of the team

Developing and maintaining relationships with the Avionics teams, Engineering Partner Companies and other key stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Aircraft Avionics support or test experience

Defence/ military industry experience

Engineering Apprenticeship

Excellent IT skills

Typhoon avionics experience - desirable

Typhoon System Interaction Rigs Team

We are a team of 25+ Test Engineers including a Support and Ops team who managing the testing of new Typhoon Hardware and Software on the 4 off avionic System Interaction Rigs. We develop test cases, which are then actioned on the rigs. We play a key role in providing test evidence and reports to show that that the product is as per design and highlight any issues that we find during the testing. This test evidence and report is used to support the generation of flight clearance of the Typhoon aircraft and release to the customer.

The team operates on a 2-shift rotating system of 37 hours per week. The two shifts consist of 6am-2pm Monday to Friday and 12pm to 8pm Monday to Friday.
