Engineering Apprentice
Engineering Apprenticeship with an innovative and expanding Hi Tech Business based at the Electronics & Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC) in Paignton. The development of bespoke packaging requirements, including the assembly of components, wire bonding, fibre alignment, hermetically sealing and testing of the finished product.
Role
- Be involved with technical demands and design solutions for the successful manufacture to the customers specification
- Program writing for auto equipment, including die bonders and wire bonders
- Working with the mechanical design department
- Work with the supplier development team
- Working with the quality department
- Get an understanding of the sales and marketing strategies
Training
Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
- Weekly Day Release to South Devon College
- Required to achieve as a minimum an employer approved Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
- Required to achieve as a minimum an employer approved Level 3 Development Competence qualification
- Required to achieve as a minimum an employer approved Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking end point assessment
- All of the qualification requirements in the foundation and development phases are mandatory outcomes for the completion and final certification of the Apprenticeship Standard
- Each qualification has a core and options approach and employers will select the most applicable pathway and unit options to meet their organisational requirements
- Progression into senior engineering positions and higher level engineering qualifications
