Are you passionate about software quality and ensuring systems run seamlessly for clients and employees alike? BCMGlobal Mortgage Services are seeking a Trainee Systems Test Analyst to join our dynamic team, playing a key role in testing operational support systems that power our business.

About the Role

As a Systems Test Analyst, you’ll plan and execute testing for internal and external clients, ensuring that our operational systems are reliable, efficient, and meet the needs of the business. You’ll work closely with business units, clients, software partners, and vendors, producing test plans, logging defects, and delivering insightful test reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, design, and technical specifications to ensure full test coverage.
  • Plan, execute, and document testing for assigned projects using the Waterfall methodology.
  • Perform SQL-based data interrogation to validate test data.
  • Log and manage defects following the defect lifecycle.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing.
  • Conduct system integration testing and peer reviews of test artefacts.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system testing processes.
  • Present findings in “Show and Tell” sessions with stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum 1 year of software testing experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Well-organised, able to prioritise, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of the development lifecycle, particularly Waterfall methodology.
  • Confident in test case design and SQL for data validation (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, SELECT, JOINs).

Desirable:

  • Foundation Certificate in Software Testing (ISEB/ISTQB).
  • Experience in UK Financial Services, especially residential/commercial mortgages or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Jira/Confluence.
