Compliance and Risk Manager - Remote Job description BDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for a Compliance and Risk Manager to join our client, a Fintech Payments company, based in London.We are offering a permanent position starting soon, with an excellent day rate, employed via the client.About the role: This role requires a proactive approach and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the compliance framework is robust and effective. You will be a key player in maintaining the commitment to exceptional client service and regulatory adherence.As a Compliance Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operations aligned with the regulatory standards and internal policies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide core compliance advice and oversight to our business functions as our Compliance Oversight function holder
- Build on current risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards across the business
- Innovate towards creating a new international risk and compliance framework and operations which address appropriately the group’s risk profile whilst ensuring this encourages and accommodates fast business growth
- Have a deep grasp and understanding of the legal and compliance requirements for new markets through liaison with external consultants, legal teams and regulators where required
- Comprehensive experience in Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering in order to act as the MLRO
- Work freely and independently across the business with limited supervision (i.e. being within the General Counsel’s team, with whom you will agree key strategies and who will be your executive level stakeholder and representative approach to risks)
- Lead on all regulatory, compliance and risk projects (consulting with the General Counsel and by engaging external consultants as appropriate)
- Delivery of professional advice to the First Line of Defence on key regulatory compliance and risk-related matters with the ability to conclude on the level of compliance with regulatory matters as part of oversight activities
- An enabler to the First Line of Defence and leading by example on the risk and compliance ‘Tone from the Top’
- Policy owner and for all risk and compliance related policies with accountability for regulatory risk and compliance policy implementation across the business
- Engagement with executive team and the Board
- Be ultimately responsible for FCA regulatory (and other international regulatory body) reporting
- Lead and manage relationships with Financial Services regulators in the UK and beyond
- Proven experience in leading a risk and compliance department in an FCA regulated environment, across various authorisations
- Experience in a start up or scale up environment
- Leading understanding of the ‘Three Lines of Defence’ models
- Leading people and change management skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver messages to all levels of the business including senior management and external audiences
- Strong consumer and market awareness
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations including Money Laundering, Fraud and Payment Services
