Transformation Manager – Financial Crime - Remote with travel to Newcastle & Manchester Job description BDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transformation Manager to join our client.We are offering an initial 6 -12 month contract starting at the beginning of March with an excellent day rate, employed via an Umbrella company. About the role: We are seeking an experienced Transformation Manager to lead and deliver a major Financial Crime Transformation Programme, with a particular focus on implementing a new CRM system and significantly upgrading the organisation’s Analytics & MI capabilities. This role is pivotal in shaping how Financial Crime teams operate, ensuring data-driven, automated, and scalable processes that meet regulatory expectations and business needs.You will act as the bridge between operational stakeholders, technology teams, data specialists, and senior leadership—driving end to end transformation across systems, processes, and MI/analytics methodology.Key responsibilities include;
  • Lead the Financial Crime Transformation Programme, ensuring all workstreams (CRM, Analytics, MI, data, processes) are delivered on time and to scope.
  • Translate transformation strategy into clear plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage programme governance, including risk management, reporting, RAID logs, and stakeholder updates.
  • Oversee the implementation of a new CRM platform tailored for Financial Crime operations.
  • Define business requirements and ensure the CRM meets operational, regulatory, and reporting needs.
  • Work closely with technology teams and vendors to drive configuration, testing, and go live activities.
  • Redesign the approach to MI, dashboards, and analytics for Financial Crime teams, moving from manual, low quality reporting to automated, insightful intelligence.
  • Define a target operating model for data capture, data quality, automated reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with data engineering/BI teams to develop scalable solutions (Power BI, SQL, data warehouses, etc.).
  • Influence and engage senior leaders, SMEs, operational managers, and technical teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, drive alignment, and ensure all business functions adopt changes successfully.
  • Act as a subject matter advisor on Financial Crime transformation and technical enablement.
  • Change Management
  • Lead change adoption across teams impacted by CRM and MI/Analytics transformation.
  • Produce training materials, communications, and business process documentation.
  • Ensure teams transition smoothly to new systems and data models.
Essential:
  • Proven experience delivering Financial Crime transformation projects within banking/fintech or regulated environments.
  • Strong background in technical transformation (CRM implementation, workflow tools, data/MI/analytics upgrades).
  • Deep understanding of Financial Crime frameworks (AML, Fraud, KYC, CDD, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring).
  • Demonstrable experience improving or completely re-engineering MI & Analytics functions.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi workstream programmes with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data models, BI tools, analytics frameworks, and reporting automation.
