Business Development Coordinator

Purpose of the Role

The Business Development Coordinator is a crucial hire for our fast-growing AI company, pioneering solutions in Health, Automotive, Robotics, and Social Interaction. The purpose of this role is to drive efficiency and effectiveness in our sales and business development by serving as the operational backbone for the commercial team and the key conduit connecting our field sales force. This is a hybrid role based in either Nottingham or Manchester, UK, to ensure a smooth, well-supported, and highly informed sales process. We are looking for an individual with a great attitude who is ready to learn quickly and become a future operational leader.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role requires a proactive approach, a highly organised nature, and a drive for commercial excellence. Core responsibilities focus on sales system management, reporting, and operational coordination.

CRM Mastery and Data Integrity

  • Customising the "Source of Truth": Serve as the primary administrator for our CRM platform (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). This includes system customisation, configuration, workflow automation, and creating custom objects. Experience customising CRMs is essential.
  • Process Optimisation: Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the sales lifecycle by building streamlined, repeatable processes, including within the CRM.
  • Data Hygiene: Ensure the CRM is the definitive "source of truth" by managing data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all sales records.

Leadership Reporting and Analysis

  • Executive Insight: Create and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards for executive leadership, drawing performance and pipeline data from the CRM.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track key sales metrics, including pipeline health and forecasting accuracy, translating raw data into clear, actionable insights for the leadership team.

Field-to-Office Coordination

  • Operational Liaison: Act as the central coordinator to manage the operational flow of all sales and sales support requests into the Head Office (e.g., sales enquiries, contract generation, technical demos, executive approvals).
  • Cross-Functional Support: Serve as the key liaison between the field team and departments like Finance, Legal, and Product to prioritise and expedite sales support, ensuring the field team has the resources they need to close deals.

What You’ll Bring

We're looking for a motivated individual with a rare blend of technical CRM skill, organisational excellence, and a strong drive for growth.

Skills & Strengths

  • Organisational Prowess: Exceptional organisational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail. You must thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment and manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Attitude and Drive: A highly proactive, resourceful, and positive 'can-do' attitude. A clear willingness to learn quickly and collaborate positively to deliver alongside colleagues is vital.
  • Analytical Skills: Able to interpret data, identify trends, and clearly communicate findings to both sales reps and executive stakeholders.

Knowledge & Experience

  • CRM Expertise is Crucial: Significant, hands-on experience customising and administering major CRM platforms such as Salesforce (Admin experience a plus) or HubSpot (Operations Hub). You must be able to prove competence in creating custom reports and automation rules.
  • Proven Experience: At least 2+ years in a Sales Operations, Enablement, or similar operational coordination role, ideally within a technology or AI/SaaS setting.
  • Sector Exposure (Recruitment Note): Exposure to, knowledge and understanding of the software sales process, risk mitigation, and implementation requirements (e.g., data transfer, security, processes) is a plus.
