Overview for the Automation Test Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with proven exposure on Salesforce implementation projects and solid proficiency in Copado DevOps tools. You’ll contribute directly to the quality assurance and delivery of Salesforce solutions by leading automation efforts, ensuring high performance and scalable releases.

Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Automation Test Engineer

  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for Salesforce applications using best-fit tools and frameworks.
  • Support testing activities across various Salesforce environments including Sandbox, UAT, and Production.
  • Configure and manage test automation workflows within Copado CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA analysts to ensure quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Perform regression, integration, and functional testing for ongoing Salesforce enhancements.
  • Identify, log, and track defects, working closely with development teams on resolution.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to estimation, planning, and risk analysis.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and advocate for quality engineering best practices.
  • Version Control Integration: work with tools such as Git to manage changes, branches, and deployments.
  • User Story Management: Track development tasks and link them to deployments.
  • Compliance & Security: to meet enterprise-grade security and audit requirements.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in Salesforce implementation projects (e.g. rollout, customization, or integration).
  • Proficiency in Copado and understanding of CI/CD pipelines within Salesforce environments.
  • Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Provar, or similar.
  • Familiarity with testing Salesforce components including Apex classes, Visualforce pages, and Lightning components.
  • Strong grasp of API testing methodologies and tools (e.g. Postman, REST Assured).
  • Ability to write and maintain test documentation: plans, scenarios, and reports.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments using tools like Jira or other DevOps tools.

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to version control systems (e.g. Git) and branching strategies.
  • Experience with additional DevOps tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab CI.
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Understanding of declarative Salesforce features (flows, process builders).
  • Salesforce certification or relevant trailhead achievements (a plus, but not required).
