About the Business
Our client is a growing international SaaS business with customers and colleagues located across multiple regions globally. As the business continues to scale, the Finance function plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making, maintaining strong financial controls, delivering high-quality reporting, and driving operational efficiency.
The role will be based at the company’s offices in Reading on a hybrid basis – 2 days in office per week
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to join a dynamic and collaborative team. The role offers broad exposure across management reporting, financial analysis, business partnering, financial control and finance transformation initiatives, including the implementation of automation, reporting tools and AI-driven solutions.
Key Relationships
In this role, you will work closely with:
- Finance Team – Supporting accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Customer-Facing Teams – Collaborating with Professional Services, Customer Success and Sales teams to improve financial visibility and support commercial decision-making.
- Senior Leadership Team – Providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning and business performance.
- External Auditors – Supporting the annual audit process and statutory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting & Analysis
- Take ownership of assigned elements of the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
- Prepare and deliver accurate, timely and insightful monthly management accounts.
- Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances and unusual movements.
- Produce meaningful financial analysis to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes.
- Develop and enhance management information, dashboards and reporting capabilities.
- Support the development and reporting of key business performance indicators, including SaaS and recurring revenue metrics.
- Partner with stakeholders to improve understanding of financial performance and key business drivers.
Business Partnering
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Provide financial insight and challenge to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Analyse revenue, margins, costs and performance trends to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Support department leaders with budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
Financial Control & Compliance
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Support the year-end audit process and assist with statutory, tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and completely to support internal and external reporting.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial governance and control frameworks.
Finance Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in reporting, processes and systems to support a scalable finance function.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and technology to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of reporting tools, including Power BI and other business intelligence solutions.
- Document and improve finance processes to ensure consistency, scalability and operational excellence.
- Work collaboratively across the business to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Support knowledge sharing and best practice development within the finance team.
Wider Finance Support
- Provide support across the wider finance function when required, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects, analysis and business initiatives as the company continues to grow.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, Finance Analyst or similar role.
- Experience supporting month-end close processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong management reporting and financial analysis skills.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and present financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive and commercially minded, with a desire to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
Desirable
- Experience within a SaaS, technology or high-growth business.
- Experience working with multi-currency transactions and international entities.
- Experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Experience delivering process improvement, automation or finance transformation initiatives.
- Understanding of SaaS KPIs and recurring revenue business models.
