Mid-weight UX/UI Designer
BRIGHT is looking for a creative and detail-orientated UX/UI designer with two to five years’ experience designing digital products, ideally within ecommerce environments. They should be adept at delivering end-to-end user experiences, from research and concept development through to high-fidelity UI and developer handoff. Equally, they should be comfortable owning defined areas of a product while collaborating closely with senior designers, product managers and developers to create intuitive, visually engaging and high-performing digital experiences.
This is a hybrid role with flexible hours based in our Sawston, Cambridgeshire office from Tuesdays to Thursdays, with remote working available on Mondays and Fridays.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the design of specific product features or user journeys (eg checkout, product detail pages, search experiences).
- Create user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Conduct or support user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
- Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of the design system and component libraries.
- Clearly present design concepts and rationales to stakeholders and product teams.
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and to a high standard.
- Identify opportunities to improve UX using analytics, user feedback and behavioural data.
Skills and experience
- Two to five years’ UX/UI design experience working on digital products, ideally within ecommerce.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent visual design skills, including layout, typography, colour and interaction design.
- Solid UX problem-solving skills with the ability to design effective end-to-end user journeys.
- Advanced Figma skills, including components, variants, auto-layout and prototyping.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and usability best practices.
- Experience working within agile product teams.
- Confident communicator able to present and justify design decisions to stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
