Business Intelligence Analyst

BSN Social Care is looking for a detail-oriented Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 2–5 years’ experience to work closely alongside our Business Intelligence Manager, contributing to the development and enhancement of BI solutions across multiple systems. You will play an important role in ensuring high-quality, reliable data supports strategic and operational decisions across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Design, develop, and maintain robust Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models using a star schema approach, managing the full lifecycle through to deployment and end-user guidance.
Create and optimise DAX measures and calculated columns to deliver accurate and insightful reporting.
Analyse data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with stakeholders across departments to gather clear requirements, asking the right questions to fully understand business needs.
Present and deliver reports to senior leadership and executive teams in a clear and accessible manner.
Translate complex technical requirements into language and insights that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
Regularly review reports and exception data to maintain the highest data quality standards, identifying discrepancies and coordinating with relevant teams to resolve issues.
Support ongoing improvements in data processes, automation, and reporting efficiency.
Document processes, report logic, and data definitions to ensure transparency and consistency.
Stay up-to-date with BI tools, Microsoft technologies, and industry best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
2–5 years’ experience in a Business Intelligence or data-focused role.
A degree in Data, Maths, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent practical experience.
Strong experience with the Microsoft stack, particularly SQL, Power BI, and Excel (essential).
Proven experience designing and building Power BI data models or relational databases using a star schema methodology.
Strong working knowledge of DAX, Role Level Security and report deployment best practices.
Solid understanding of GDPR and handling sensitive data appropriately.
Experience ensuring data integrity and maintaining high data quality standards.
Ability to manage personal projects independently while contributing effectively to team initiatives.
Confident communicator with experience liaising with multiple departments and senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical and logical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
A natural problem-solver who enjoys digging into data to identify root causes and improvements.
