Are you a qualified accountant with strong Power BI skills who enjoys improving how finance works?

Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to combine hands on management accounting with reporting improvements and finance automation. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will support several divisional businesses and play a key role in modernising their financial reporting.

Practical experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI is essential for this role.

The role

You will produce divisional management accounts while developing reporting that helps the business understand performance and profitability.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Building Power BI reports to automate divisional P&Ls using data from Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Producing monthly management accounts, posting journals and analysing financial performance.
• Replacing manual Excel processes with more efficient, accurate reporting.
• Improving purchase invoice processing and supporting finance automation.
• Contributing to Dynamics 365 upgrades, optimisation and integrations.
• Providing financial insight and support to operational colleagues.

There is no immediate staff management responsibility, although this may develop as the role grows.

About you

You will be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with strong management accounting experience.

You must have personally built and developed Power BI reports. Experience viewing or using existing dashboards alone will not be sufficient.

You will also bring:

• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 within finance.
• A track record of improving reporting or automating finance processes.
• Confidence producing accounts and investigating the detail behind the figures.
• The ability to explain financial performance clearly to operational colleagues.

SQL, database knowledge and experience using AI in finance would be useful. Accounting and systems capability are more important than manufacturing experience.

You may already be a Financial Controller or Finance Manager, or a Senior Management Accountant or Systems Accountant ready for broader responsibility.
