Network Technician
IT Technician Nottingham | £26,500 - £27,500 | Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 5:00pm | Office Based Are you an IT Support Technician looking for a role where you'll gain hands-on experience across networking, infrastructure and end-user support? We're recruiting for an IT Technician to join a busy, multi-site business based in Nottingham. Working alongside an experienced Network Supervisor, you'll play a key role in supporting users across the organisation while developing your skills across Microsoft technologies, networking and IT infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 1-2 years' IT support experience who is looking to broaden their technical knowledge and build a long-term career within IT. The Role As the IT Technician, you'll provide 1st and 2nd Line support to internal users, resolving technical issues and helping to maintain the company's IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1st and 2nd Line IT support via phone, remote support and face-to-face
- Troubleshooting hardware, software and operating system issues
- Supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory and user account administration
- Setting up new users, laptops, desktops and mobile devices
- Installing and configuring software, operating systems and business applications
- Supporting printers, telephony and general office IT equipment
- Assisting with LAN, switch and VLAN troubleshooting
- Supporting technologies including Cisco, Meraki, Synology, VMware, Veeam and 3CX
- Liaising with colleagues, suppliers and external support providers
- Travelling to other company sites when hands-on support is required
- Around 1-2 years' experience in an IT Support, Helpdesk or Service Desk role
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
- Knowledge of Active Directory and user account administration
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills
- Experience using an IT ticketing/helpdesk system
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies
- A full UK driving licence
