Architecture - MongoDB, Debezium, Oracle, Apache, London, Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced MongoDB and Debezium Architect to lead the review and optimization of our data replication and CDC architecture. This role involves analysing existing deployment setups, identifying improvements, and supporting implementation to ensure robust, high-performance data pipelines.

• Strong expertise in MongoDB architecture, including sharding, replication, indexing, and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas or managing self-hosted clusters
• Proficiency with Linux environments and Shell Scripting
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, backup strategies, and disaster recovery processes
• Experience reviewing and optimizing Debezium deployment architectures, including Oracle connector configuration, Kafka integration, and downstream consumers
• Ability to analyze Oracle database setups for CDC compatibility, focusing on redo log configuration, supplemental logging, and necessary privileges
• Skills in evaluating connector performance, lag, error handling, and identifying bottlenecks or misconfigurations
• Strong analytical skills to produce detailed reports with findings, best practices, and actionable recommendations
• Optional: Support in implementing recommended changes and performance enhancements

Key Skills & Experience:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing MongoDB in production environments
• In-depth knowledge of MongoDB architecture, including replication, sharding, backup, and recovery procedures
• Extensive experience with Debezium, particularly with Oracle connectors such as LogMiner
• Solid understanding of Oracle internals relevant to CDC, including redo logs, SCNs, archive log mode, and supplemental logging
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka and related ecosystem tools
• Proven ability to monitor, debug, and optimize Debezium connectors in live environments
• Strong analytical skills for log and metrics analysis and troubleshooting
• Excellent documentation and communication skills for delivering technical assessments
