Software Engineer - AWS, Data Solutions, Python, NetCDF, BUFR, and GRIB, SC Cleared, Hybrid

Our client is seeking a highly skilled SC Cleared Software Engineer with a passion for designing and implementing robust, efficient software solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with expertise in Python development, AWS CDK, and modern development practices. You will play a key role in delivering data-driven APIs and leveraging AI/prompt engineering to enhance our capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions on AWS infrastructure

Build and maintain APIs to facilitate data delivery and integration

Collaborate with stakeholders across all levels to understand requirements and communicate effectively

Lead development activities, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines

Incorporate AI and prompt engineering techniques to optimize development processes

Follow Agile methodologies aligned with GDS principles

Manage source control using systems such as Git

Essential Criteria:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (Experts by nature)

Proven experience in designing, implementing, and delivering efficient software on AWS

Demonstrable proficiency in Python development

Solid experience with AWS CDK

Experience with source control systems such as Git

Good communication skills, adaptable to all stakeholder levels

Self-motivated with excellent prioritisation and leadership abilities

Familiarity with AI/prompt engineering to aid development

Knowledge of scientific data formats, including NetCDF, BUFR, and GRIB

Desirable Criteria:

Experience with AGILE development practices following GDS principles
