Job summary

As our ICT environment continues to evolve, the use of cutting-edge technology requires high-quality, modern IT support. The IT Applications Team is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical and selected non-clinical applications, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, new installations, system enhancements, and participation in deployment and upgrade projects.

As a Support Analyst within the Clinical IT Systems Team, you will report to the Clinical IT Systems Senior Analysts and, during project delivery, to the Clinical IT Systems Configuration Lead, who will allocate tasks as required.

Key responsibilities include providing first- and second-line support for clinical and some non-clinical applications; managing incidents and problems through to resolution; ensuring services meet agreed SLAs; minimising service disruption; and supporting timely service restoration. You will proactively identify trends and known errors to implement permanent solutions.

The role also includes producing high-quality documentation, adhering to testing plans, completing ad-hoc reports, and providing floor-walking support at Queen's and King George Hospitals. You will deliver specialist advice to BHRUT staff, support system upgrades and migrations, manage calls via Landesk (IT Self-Help Portal), set up and deploy devices, maintain application standards, produce monthly reports, and respond to ad-hoc management requests.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will closely support Applications Configuration Lead and Application Configuration Analyst to maintain daily business continuity and expected outcomes of ongoing projects.

Key requirements:-

- IT Professional with proven experience- Experience working with Clinical IT applications- Device config experience- Good communication skills, both written and verbal- Satisfactory performance at mathematics and English at secondary school level or equivalent.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or experience in an IT service environment with evidence of relevant skills equivalent to Degree level

Skills/ Abilities

  • Data manipulation / using tools such as MS Excel/EPR configuration,testing and deployment.
  • Clearly communicate technical IM&T and clinical information to a diverse audience with a wide range of experience and skills.
