We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Information Analyst to join our Business Intelligence Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills who enjoys transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support decision-making across healthcare services.

Based in Barnsley, this role will support reporting and analytical requirements across the Trust while working collaboratively with partners across Barnsley, Rotherham, and South Yorkshire to support integrated care initiatives and shared reporting objectives.

As an Information Analyst, you will play a key role in producing high-quality business intelligence, supporting statutory reporting requirements, developing dashboards and reports, and providing valuable insights that help improve patient care, operational performance, and service delivery.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with office attendance requirements agreed with the line manager based on service needs.

Main duties of the job

Produce and analyse routine and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and performance information.

Support managers, clinicians, and other stakeholders with data and analytical requests.

Extract, validate, reconcile, and analyse data from multiple information systems.

Investigate data quality issues and work with colleagues to improve accuracy and completeness.

Support the submission of statutory and mandatory NHS returns.

Develop reporting solutions using SQL, business intelligence tools, spreadsheets, and reporting software.

Create meaningful insights that support operational, clinical, and strategic decision-making.

Support service improvement through benchmarking and comparative analysis.

Contribute to activity, performance, mortality, income, and contractual reporting.

Promote automation and modern reporting techniques to improve efficiency.

Assist with Freedom of Information requests and complex information enquiries.

Support the maintenance of data warehouses, information systems, and reporting processes.

Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and corporate teams across the organisation.

Build effective relationships with external partners across Barnsley, Rotherham, and South Yorkshire.

Essential
  • Experience in the use of MS packages
  • Previous NHS information background
Desirable
  • Experience in the use of data warehouses
  • Experience in the use of MS Access for analysis and designing databases
  • Familiar with the use of Patient Administration Systems/Electronic patient records
  • Experience in the use of MS Excel

  • Educated to Diploma - level or equivalent relevant knowledge
