Job summary
This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3, apprentices should note that the salary would be Agenda for Change Annex 21 trainee rate (75%max of band) until they have completed their apprenticeship.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Infrastructure Support Assistant to work within Infrastructure within the ICT Department at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on a 12-month Placement. The post is ideally aimed at university students completing a sandwich degree within computing/networking with a passion for technology and experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing the ICT Infrastructure function. This will include the monitoring of a call ticketing queue. Other duties include some remote fixes, the processing of procurement of IT equipment to the Trust, IP & analogue telephony configuration, server monitoring/maintenance, advice to users, and also providing general administration duties. This post requires a highly developed customer focus and the ability to work on your own initiative.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 Grade 4 or equivalent GCSEs (one to include English Language)
- Have passed or working towards Microsoft Desktop Support certifications in windows 7 and or Windows 10
- Working towards a degree in an IT related subject
