ICT - Application Support Team Leader

Job summary

The Clinical Systems Team is recruiting to this position to lead a team of applications specialist support staff responsible for the support, configuration and maintenance of Cerner Millennium, Barts Health's electronic health record system. There is one Applications Support Team Leader post available, with 4 to 6 direct reports.The Application Support Team Leaders will have distinct areas of responsibility;

oService and Incident management with our external teams and end usersoBuild and configuration change requests for current and new functionality

The successful candidates will have expert level Millennium knowledge and a high quality approach to customer service. They must be able to prioritise their workload autonomously, to manage the associated service and development pressures.

Main duties of the job

The Informatics Directorates key objective is to improve the quality and effectiveness of healthcare delivery and maintain the financial viability of the Trust by the application of IT.Oracle Health Millennium is the electronic health record system for Barts Health. There is an ongoing programme of work to extend the functionality and scope, particularly in clinical areas, while continuing to meet the core requirements of patient administration.The Applications Support Team Lead is accountable for a team of specialist staff that maintain Oracle Health Millennium and other connected clinical systems. This covers management of current configurations, best use of the system, and planning and implementation of changes to the system.It is requisite to lead in troubleshooting system issues, problem solving and analysis of new requirements, and responsibility for the support, system administration and data integrity of Oracle Health Millennium and all Trust clinical systems.The Applications Support Team Lead will be supported by an applications support team for which they will have full line management responsibility.

  • Significant experience working in a Service Management environment
  • Significant Experience working as a department Manager
  • Extensive experience working at a senior level with information systems

Qualifications

Essential
  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems and procedures acquired through a combination of specialist training and relevant study to Master's degree or equivalent level
  • Qualified at Foundation level in ITIL Service Management
  • Qualified in ECDL or equivalent
Desirable
  • Formal training in project management and PRINCE2
  • Qualified at Practitioner level in ITIL Service Management
  • Formal training in staff management
  • Understanding of NHS clinical and administrative processes
