Job summary
Barts Health is seeking a Senior Imaging Systems Administrator to contribute to the delivery and resilience of digital imaging systems and services across the Trust. Based at St Bartholomew's Hospital (SBH), you will be accountable to the Imaging Systems Site Lead and will work closely with colleagues in the PACS Team, Imaging Services, ICT and other staff groups across Barts Health.This senior technical role requires strong Imaging systems and information management skills to deliver the following key responsibilities:o Act as the senior operational lead for Imaging systems at SBH, maintaining integrity, availability and performance of Sectra PACS, RIS and associated systems.o Contribute to the ongoing development and strategic direction of Imaging systems for Barts Health.o Provide technical and specialist input on an autonomous basis.o Analyse and resolve complex technical issues, acting as a senior escalation and support contact for Imaging system users at SBH and other Trust sites.o Provide training and support to system users at SBH, elsewhere in Barts Health and occasionally at regional level.Key requirements:o Detailed understanding of digital Imaging systems and clinical Imaging workflows.o Confidence, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Main duties of the job
To lead, facilitate and be responsible for the safe use of Imaging systems by radiologists, radiographers and other imaging staff. The post holder will work as a specialist with expertise in Imaging Information Technology and all aspects of Imaging workflow.The post holder will have responsibility for daily management, on-going support(including training) and service development of the imaging systems for their site. This includes the interfaces and integration with connected systems. The post holder will act autonomously to communicate with users of all supported systems and their suppliers to understand, troubleshoot and rectify problems. To lead on Trust strategic projects involving PACS and RIS, providing technical guidance and hands on support to suppliers and other project teams.

Experience
- Experience as a radiographer in a teaching hospital with a wide range of different modalities.
- Extensive experience of all aspects of RIS and PACS system administration.
- Experience of staff management or supervision
- Experience of developing and delivering training.
- Project management and Change management experience.
- Governance compliance and risk management in all areas of practice.
- Presentation skills - the ability to present clearly, logically and thoughtfully on a given topic at short notice to a mix of levels.
- Development and implementation of protocols.
Skills
- Skilled in the use of a wide range of radiographic modalities.
- Advanced PACS and RIS knowledge and experience.
- Teaching and training skills with the ability to adapt training and teaching styles in response to needs of the trainee.
- Team player with an enthusiasm for information technology with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
- IT skills to advanced level particularly in MS Excel
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

Knowledge
- Understanding of relevant legislation, national standards and professional guidelines.

Qualifications
- DCR or BSc in Radiography or equivalent experience.
- Post graduate qualification in imaging or health care informatics, or equivalent experience
