Head of Information Technology

THE ROLE

We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of IT to lead and scale our digital ecosystem. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring our technology infrastructure is secure, resilient, and aligned with business growth strategy.

As Head of IT, you will own the end-to-end performance of our core business systems, including NetSuite (ERP), Anaplan, EDI connections to customer portals and marketplaces such as Amazon, and integrations with third-party logistics providers’ Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Key customers. You will also oversee outsourced IT service providers and external plug and play modules with various partners.

This role blends strategic oversight with operational excellence. From infrastructure stability and cybersecurity to automation, systems optimisation, and digital transformation, you will be the organisation’s technology leader and trusted advisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the IT strategy to support business objectives and long-term growth.
  • Ensure scalability, security, and performance across all systems and infrastructure.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for business-critical systems and infrastructure.
  • Lead technical innovation initiatives and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Own and manage the IT and systems projects, budget, driving cost-effectiveness and ROI.

Enterprise Systems Ownership

  • Provide full ownership and administration of NetSuite (ERP), Anaplan and its ecosystem of integrated systems.
  • Oversee EDI integrations with customer portals and order-management platforms, including Amazon.
  • Manage integrations with 3PL Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Monitor APIs, automations, and data flows to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, integrations, and workflows.

Infrastructure & Security

  • Manage external IT helpdesk and service providers to ensure high service standards.
  • Safeguard data integrity, enforce cybersecurity protocols, and manage backups and disaster recovery.
  • Own data protection and compliance across systems, ensuring adherence to GDPR and relevant data privacy regulations.
  • Manage access controls, support audits, and implement robust data governance policies.

ERP & Systems Project Management

  • Lead ERP enhancements, upgrades, and new system implementations.
  • Provide user support, training, and light system customisation.
  • Develop project timelines, manage budgets, and oversee successful delivery.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales and other departments to ensure systems align with evolving needs.
  • Utilise project management tools to coordinate cross-functional projects and documentation.

Process Optimisation & Automation

  • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
  • Drive system-based enhancements to improve operational efficiency and data visibility.
  • Ensure seamless data flow across platforms and proactively resolve anomalies.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Own relationships with software vendors and technology partners.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Coordinate system updates, enhancements, and training initiatives.

Reporting & Insights

  • Deliver regular reporting on system performance, usage, and risk.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership based on system data and analytics.
  • Ensure technology investments directly support informed decision-making.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A strategic IT leader with strong hands-on systems expertise.
  • Experienced in ERP ownership (ideally NetSuite) and complex system integrations.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to align technology with business outcomes.
  • Confident managing third-party vendors and outsourced IT providers.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, compliance, and data governance principles.
  • An excellent communicator who can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
