Join our global client’s specialist cryptography function, playing a vital role in maintaining the integrity, availability, and governance of core security services across critical environments. As a Cryptography & Key Management specialist, you will work directly with enterprise-grade Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and lead key-management processes supporting secure operations across multiple platforms. The tasks of a Cryptography Analyst will include:
• Configure, administer, and maintain HSM devices, including secure onsite activities and lifecycle management.• Generate, distribute, store, recover, rotate, and retire cryptographic keys in line with security procedures.• Maintain detailed documentation, audit trails, device catalogues, and operational records for cryptographic environments.• Support the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of key-management services across globally distributed platforms. (including some on-call duties)• Contribute to incident, problem, and change management activities, ensuring timely resolution and effective root-cause identification.• Produce operational reports, risk statements, and compliance evidence as part of ongoing governance requirements.• Develop, refine, and implement procedures, operational processes, and control improvements.• Deliver cryptographic components of projects, ensuring technical requirements are met and securely integrated.
To progress as a successful Cryptography Analyst, you will require:
• Strong experience in cryptography and enterprise key-management operations.• Demonstrable and current, hands-on expertise in HSM configuration, installation, support, and secure component handling.• Experience with certificate management, authentication technologies, and controlled cryptographic processes.• Familiarity with operational frameworks such as ITIL.• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence/collaborate across teams.• Understanding of Unix / Windows environments used within secure infrastructure.• Strong documentation skills for procedures, runbooks, and audit deliverables.• Knowledge of risk, governance, compliance, and data-protection principles; relevant certifications are advantageous.
**The hands on Cryptography experience, particularly of Hardware Security Module (HSM) and associated Key Management is critical to success in this role, however candidates with some recent exposure and a broader background in ITIL, Incident Response, Change Management AND a genuine demonstrable desire to progress a career in Cryptography, will be considered.
