Software Development Manager

£65- 75k plus bonus

Remote working with occasional meetings in Aberdeen, Glasgow and or Edinburgh

Are you a strong software development leader? Ready to join the leadership team of a successful niche software company?

I’m looking for a strong leader who can focus on enhancing development processes and team development. You’ll lead the product roadmap, sprint delivery and the management of a software team.

The company’s tech stack – OpenEdge in the backend with Typescript/Angular front-end.

You should have the following skills and experiences –

• Degree in computing science or tech related.
• Experience in a similar Development Manager role with responsibility for leading a team of developers.
• Deep understanding of modern development lifecycles (Agile/Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CD.
• Practical knowledge of deployment architectures, cloud services, and cost/performance trade-offs.
• Familiarity with build pipelines, version control, containerisation, and automated testing.
• Strong product mindset—comfort with roadmap planning, backlog grooming, and aligning technical delivery to product goals.
• Proven ability to inspire and develop team members.
• Excellent planning and execution skills (sprint management, risk mitigation, resource allocation).
• Able to make timely, data-informed decisions and balance tech debt with feature delivery.
• Clear communication with stakeholders at various levels (technical and non-technical).
