Job summary
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and flexible team member to join our caring and supportive Reception Team and to cover administrative duties . You will provide an integral link between our patients and our clinicians. This role will also include other administrative duties such as monitoring SystmConnect queries and responding to patient queries.
The Practice is open from 08:00 to 18:30 Monday to Friday
This is a 12 month fixed term contract for 25-30 Hours to cover maternity leave
Main duties of the job
Main duties
You will be a critical part of the front of house team, responsible for assisting patients and health care professionals. This position encompasses traditional reception duties. You will be a central contact point for all patient enquires, both face to face and by telephone, to ensure they are directed to the most appropriate person or place for their care. There are many other administrative aspects of the role that goes on behind the scenes that is also a big part of running the GP Practice which will offer a wide variety of tasks each day.

Process SystmConnects in accordance to Practice procedure
Ensure the reception and waiting area are kept neat and tidy.
To be familiar with the appointment system, ensuring sufficient information is recorded on the medical records when booking appointments.
Receive and make calls as required. Divert calls and take messages as and when appropriate.
Inputting data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Ensure up to date patient information is recorded
To assist with administration duties such as Registrations and Scanning will also be a part of this role.

Reception:

Ensure the consulting rooms are checked at the end of each day and left tidy and secure.
Make up patient files and ensure records are kept tidy and in good repair with all necessary information recorded correctly on the outer cover.
Inputting data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Ensure up to date patient information is recorded
Taking part in regular team meetings and training.
To assist with administration duties such as Registrations and Scanning will also be a part of this role.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Essential
- Customer Service experience
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Desirable
- Experience of working in primary care
- Experience of working in a GP Practice
