Role OverviewA London-based international bank is seeking a Tech Support Engineer to ensure the reliability and performance of its IT infrastructure. This role involves hands-on support across hardware, software, and network systems, with a focus on secure, compliant, and resilient operations in a regulated financial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1st/2nd line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and mobile devices
- Manage laptop imaging and deployment (WIM USB, MDT, SCCM, Intune, AutoPilot)
- Administer user accounts and permissions (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
- Support core networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN)
- Monitor system performance and assist with backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Maintain endpoint security (Bitlocker, SentinelOne, Fortinet, Symantec, MFA)
- Document IT procedures and respond to service requests with urgency and professionalism
- Support AV systems, CCTV, card access, and SIP phone recording infrastructure
- Assist with IT projects, hardware/software inventory, and procurement tracking
- Ensure BCP site readiness and compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with HR and Admin teams for onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning
- Adhere to FCA Conduct Rules and internal IT policies
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery
- Maintain high standards of integrity, professionalism, and operational discipline
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 1-2 years' experience in technical support, ideally within banking or financial services
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, Office 365, and conferencing tools
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and AV support
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
- Exposure to Fortinet, Cisco switches, ManageEngine, Nagios
- Experience with scripting, automation, or basic programming
- Familiarity with project coordination and data analysis
