As our Pharmacy Homecare service continues to grow, we're looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Homecare Officer to join our team. Working across both Bedfordshire Hospitals sites, you'll play a key role in helping patients receive specialist medicines safely, reliably and conveniently in their own homes.
You'll work closely with Homecare providers, clinicians and Pharmacy colleagues to coordinate Homecare prescriptions, process medication orders and support the smooth delivery of this essential service using our Pharmacy IT systems.
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and able to manage their own workload while meeting deadlines. You'll have excellent communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team and be committed to providing an outstanding patient experience.

Main duties of the job
- To carry out a range of duties associated with the ordering/receipt and invoicing of medicines provided through Homecare medicine providers using the Pharmacy computer systems across sites.
- To maintain relevant databases related to all aspects of Homecare medicines provision and provide appropriate reports as required.
- To assist in the management of the administration infrastructure supporting the Trusts'provision of Homecare Services and Patient Access Schemes for medicines.
- To liaise with appropriate nursing staff/clinical teams to ensure and facilitate the timely provision of prescriptions required for Trust patients receiving medication via Homecare.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with Homecare medicines provider customer services to ensure speedy identification and resolution of any problems.

Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths (Pass) or equivalent
- Full ECDL or equivalent experience
- Level 2 NVQ units in relevant Pharmaceutical area or equivalent
Experience
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Experience of data inputting - raising orders/invoicing
- Experience of running simple reports using Excel or similar
- Previous experience of working with pharmaceutical products
- Experience of raising orders/invoicing
Knowledge
- Knowledge of office procedures
- Knowledge of sales and purchase ledger
- Understanding of the need of confidentiality awareness at all times
- Knowledge of the NHS
- Awareness of medicine names
