As a £1 billion-turnover business ranked #6 in CRN's top resellers and MSPs, we offer the rare combination of organisational stability and continuous ambition. Now, as we expand across the UK, US, Europe, India and UAE, we're looking for talented people to help shape our next chapter.

Our greatest asset is our people — it's what our success is built on.

The Role:

As Contracts Manager, you will provide essential legal support across Bell’s operational, sales, pre-sales, procurement, and senior management teams. You will ensure the business operates within a robust legal framework whilst supporting the achievement of its commercial objectives. Working collaboratively across departments, you will deliver efficient, pragmatic, and commercially focused contract support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear, practical, and commercially minded advice on contract terms, legal matters, and business risk.
  • Review and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including confidentiality agreements / NDAs, supplier and customer contracts, software licences, statements of work and order forms, service level agreements, SaaS agreements, data processing agreements (DPAs), and agency, reseller, and service provision arrangements.
  • Negotiate contract terms with customers and suppliers in line with business requirements, company policies, and risk appetite to achieve favourable commercial outcomes.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, key milestones, renewals, termination rights, and compliance requirements, escalating risks and issues where appropriate.
  • Support sales, procurement, and operational teams in interpreting contractual obligations and ensuring contractual commitments can be effectively delivered.
  • Ensure contracts are reviewed and progressed through internal approval and governance processes in accordance with delegated authorities and company policies.
  • Review and negotiate data protection, information security, and confidentiality provisions, working with compliance, security, and data protection stakeholders as required.
  • Assist with the resolution of contractual disputes, claims, and interpretation issues, seeking appropriate internal or external support where required.
  • Provide support to commercial decision-making by identifying contractual opportunities, liabilities, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate contracts registers and oversee the effective use of contract lifecycle management tools (CLM).
  • Support the continuous improvement and effective utilisation of the CLM’s tools, reporting, and contract metadata.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to support the on-boarding of new suppliers and customers across relevant business sectors.
  • Support senior members of the Commercial Contracts and Legal team with complex contractual matters, strategic projects, legal research, and other activities as required, contributing to the delivery of team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage, instruct, and manage external legal counsel within agreed budgets where workload, specialist knowledge, or non-UK jurisdiction expertise is required.
  • Maintain and update the business's suite of legal templates, ensuring they remain current, accurate, and fit for purpose.
  • Proactively identify and suggest improvements to team processes and ways of working to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Keep your line manager regularly informed of workload, priorities, and any matters of relevance to the business or your role.
  • Adhere to all processes and procedures adopted by the team and the wider business that are applicable to your role.

Skills/Experience:

  • Legal qualification or training (e.g. law degree, GDL, or LPC) demonstrating a solid understanding of fundamental legal principles, including English contract law.
  • Experience in a contract management or commercial contracts role, ideally within the technology sector or a systems integration environment.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and manage a range of commercial agreements, with some exposure to cross-border contracts and the complexities these present.
  • Experience negotiating technology-related agreements, including software licensing, SaaS, support and maintenance, professional services, managed services, and cloud-related contracts.
  • Experience supporting both buy-side and sell-side contractual arrangements.
  • Working knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and common contractual data protection requirements.
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management (CLM) or contract repository systems.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with Sales, Procurement, Compliance, and operational teams to support and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey legal and commercial matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders, avoiding jargon and enabling sound decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
