AWS Cloud Developer (Docker/Terraform/TypeScript)

Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for an AWS Cloud Developer for our client, working a remote role within the UK.

Contract Type: Temporary (3-6 months), potential to extend depending upon performance.
Working Hours: 7 hours per day
Location: Fully Remote
Compensation: £30 - £54.30 per hour depending upon experience

Job Description:

Our client are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Developer to design, build, and optimise our cloud infrastructure supporting xAgent, their full-stack TypeScript solution. You'll work with their DevOps and engineering teams to deploy scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS environments using Docker, Terraform, and modern DevOps practices.

This role requires hands-on development of infrastructure automation, scripting for deployment workflows, and occasional use of the AWS Console for operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Terraform configurations for AWS infrastructure provisioning.
  • Build and manage Docker containers for xAgent's front-end and back-end components.
  • Implement and operate ECS, EKS, or Fargate for container orchestration.
  • Use AWS CLI, SAM CLI, and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or TypeScript) to automate deployment, maintenance, and monitoring workflows.
  • Occasionally use the AWS Management Console for inspection, troubleshooting, or deployment adjustments.
  • Configure and optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or similar).
  • Manage IAM roles, security groups, VPCs, and networking components.
  • Implement observability with CloudWatch, X-Ray, and relevant monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure reliable, consistent deployments of TypeScript microservices.
  • Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, automation scripts, and deployment processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer - Associate, DevOps Engineer - Professional) preferred.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or TypeScript for automation.
  • Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript build environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
