Senior Business Development Manager – IT Services & Cyber Security

Remote / UK-wide

Up to £70,000 basic + significant six-figure earning potential

You can sell.

You've probably been doing it long enough that you don't need another advert telling you about pipelines, KPIs and "building relationships".

So here's what makes this one interesting.

An established IT services business is entering its next stage of growth.

They've secured places on major frameworks. The size and volume of opportunities is increasing. And they're looking for an experienced salesperson who knows what to do with them.

Someone who can sit with a potential customer, understand the problem behind the problem and shape a compelling solution.

Someone who can take a complex opportunity from first conversation through to commercial close.

And someone who can write.

Because sometimes you're not sitting opposite the customer.

Sometimes you've got 40 pages of tender documentation and a deadline.

The technical team can explain how the business can meet the requirement and you'll turn that into a compelling reason why the customer should choose you.

You'll still be selling.

This isn't a management role dressed up as a sales job.

You'll develop new business opportunities, meet customers, write proposals and tenders, work alongside technical specialists, negotiate commercials and close business.

You'll probably already have experience selling things like:

  • Managed IT Services
  • Cyber Security
  • Cloud / Infrastructure
  • Professional Services
  • Technology Consultancy

You don't need to be deeply technical.

But you do need to understand IT services well enough to ask intelligent questions and have credible conversations with senior technology and business leaders.

And you'll know your way around complex sales cycles, procurement processes, RFPs and tenders.

Confidence without the ego. That's important here.

They're not looking for the loudest salesperson in the room.

They're looking for someone who listens, reads the room, asks intelligent questions and builds relationships.

You'll be commercially ambitious but consultative in how you sell.

And you'll be comfortable sharing your experience and helping develop the people around you.

And this could become something bigger.

The immediate requirement is for an experienced, hands-on salesperson.

But the business is growing and so is its sales capability.

For the right person, there is genuine scope to take on greater responsibility as the business develops, potentially progressing into a more senior Director level sales position over time.

This could suit someone who still loves winning business today but wants the opportunity to help shape and ultimately lead a sales function tomorrow.

If you're an experienced IT services salesperson who's as comfortable writing the proposition as you are presenting it and you like the idea of helping build something you could ultimately lead, this is worth a conversation.
