Head of AI

We're working with a UK-based, specialist data consulting firm looking to hire a Head of AI to lead and expand its AI advisory and enablement capability, specifically in the life sciences industry. This is a leadership position that will be tasked with building out a team and expanding the service offerings for the company.

This senior, client-facing role will combine practice leadership, client advisory, and team building. The successful candidate will shape AI offerings, guide clients on high-value use cases and proofs of value, and help organizations build scalable, enterprise-ready AI supported by strong data foundations.

Key focus areas include:

• Defining and growing AI consulting propositions (AI enablement, semantic data, ontologies, knowledge models)

• Acting as a senior advisor to clients on AI strategy and opportunity discovery

• Overseeing AI use-case, PoC, and semantic data engagements

• Supporting go-to-market activity, thought leadership, and pre-sales

• Building and mentoring a specialist AI consulting team

Ideal background:

✔ Senior experience in AI/data/analytics consulting (practice lead, director, or equivalent)

✔ Strong expertise in AI strategy, feasibility assessment, and value-driven use cases

✔ Knowledge of data governance, architecture, and enterprise data foundations

✔ Experience with semantic data / ontologies / knowledge graphs highly valued

✔ Exposure to regulated sectors such as life sciences, pharma, or financial services is a plus
