The team you will join
Our IT Team sits within our wider Business Services Division. The team is responsible for all aspects of IT across the business, covering User Support, Infrastructure, Security, Data and Development Teams.
The work you will be doing
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports. Create visually appealing, accurate, and user-friendly dashboards tailored to business needs.
- Regularly update and refine dashboards based on team feedback.
- Analyse data to uncover trends, insights, and actionable recommendations for various departments within the firm.
- Collaborate with IT colleagues to ensure seamless integration of data sources and maintain data quality for reporting purposes.
- Ensure that dashboards and datasets perform efficiently and meet user expectations. Identify and resolve performance issues promptly.
- Adhere to established guidelines for creating consistent and effective reports. Strive for clarity and simplicity in presenting data insights.

What we are looking for
- At least 3 years proficiency in Power BI development
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage dashboards, with strong skills in DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data to produce meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and Familiarity with querying databases to extract and manipulate data.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and report quality.
- Comfortable working with team members and IT colleagues to deliver shared objectives.
- Experience with advanced Power BI features, such as custom visuals and row-level security is desirable
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or similar data platform technologies.
- Knowledge of data preparation and Extract, Transform, Load processes.
- Relevant certifications in Power BI or data analysis tools would be desirable
Hybrid Working
Birketts is a flexible business which has embraced a hybrid working model where our colleagues enjoy a mix of home and office working. This role attracts a split of 60% office days and 40% working from home days per week, with a minimum requirement of 2 days in the office.
