Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Birmingham, with opportunity to work from home part-time.
Location: Hybrid (1-2 days in our Birmingham office or client site per week)
Level: 4+ years’ experience | Qualified/Part Qualified accountant preferred
Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Dependant on experience and qualifications (ie if qualified accountant)

As a Senior Modelling & Analytics Consultant you will lead projects across Birmingham Analytics’ client service offerings:
Model Development & Solution Design
You will own the end-to-end model development including designing, developing, testing, operating and enhancing models for our clients, ensuring outputs are robust, insightful and aligned with client strategy including:
- Design, develop and deliver high-impact models (e.g. strategic forecasts, management tools, financial reporting models), ensuring technical excellence and usability for stakeholders.
- Act as a subject matter expert on financial and operational modelling, analytics workflows and reporting automation.
- Translate business problems into data and modelling solutions, working closely with board-level and operational clients.
- Direct and QA development of dashboards, visualisations, and ETL pipelines, working within client tech environments and architecture.
- Drive strategic insight through use of data analytics, supporting clients in identifying opportunities and risks.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
You will engage with clients to understand their strategic, management and operational objectives and develop an understanding of their data landscape to:
- Develop interactive visualisations, dashboards and BI reports (e.g. in Excel, PowerBI) which enable client reporting, and making their data accessible to end users.
- Develop ETL tools and solutions which help clients consolidate, store and access their data.
- Help clients use a data-driven approach to answer key strategic and operational questions and better understand their business.
Advisory & Consulting
You will work with client teams (e.g. board/exec, operational staff) to understand and support their business by:
- Leading client projects and relationships, acting as the trusted face of delivery. You’ll provide strategic input, foster confidence, and build long-term value through proactive and insightful engagement and project management.
- Advising senior client stakeholders (board, exec and operational teams) on modelling approaches, data strategy, and good practice.
- Facilitating client workshops to define their objectives, shape solutions and align teams around outcomes.
Business Development
Being part of a small, growing consultancy, you will take a leading role in our firm’s growth through business development activities, including:
- Scoping, structuring and estimating new client work.
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Developing compelling proposals, pitch materials and thought leadership content.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of internal methodologies, demos, and IP.
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong consulting capability, and who is motivated to innovate, collaborate and bring their authentic self to their work.
- 4+ years of experience delivering analytics, modelling or financial reporting solutions.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (e.g. ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA) is preferred
- Strong technical skills in Excel (including VBA, PowerQuery), with experience in building and reviewing complex financial models.
- Experience across a range of industries.
- Hands-on experience developing BI and analytics solutions such as PowerBI, Tableau, SQL.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage senior stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex issues and present confidently to non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable operating independently and collaboratively, managing competing priorities and delivering under pressure.
