Deputy Head of Taurus Delivery
Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Deputy Head of Taurus (Epic) EPR to support the strategic delivery, implementation, and optimisation of our Taurus Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a central role in maintaining Taurus across the organisation, improving clinical workflows, and ensuring the Taurus EPR system is suitably developed, maintained and delivered within the Trust in accordance with national, corporate and project directives.
Working closely with the Head of Taurus delivery, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead on critical projects, manage cross-functional teams, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Taurus system meets the evolving needs of our staff and patients.
Main duties of the job
o Line management and leadership of a team of Lead Application Analysts in the design and build team across Taurus in the designated area. This will include recruitment, PDRs, performance management, managing grievance and disciplinary procedures, mentoring and coaching where appropriate.o Leading on all Epic applications activities.o Creating and maintaining a strong working relationship with all key stakeholders including, Divisional Directors, General Managers, Heads of Nursing and other senior staff and Clinicians within the organisation.o Managing and overseeing the application team resource which will support the successful delivery of the Taurus EPR programme.o Creating strong working relationships with the Trust to support agreed work stream and programme timescales.o Working as part of the senior Taurus leadership team, displaying positive and strong leadership skills o Maintain strong working relationships with ICT colleagues in ensuring the delivery against information governance and data standards.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to master's level or equivalent experience
- Qualification in Change Management or equivalent experience
- PRINCE2 Practitioner level or equivalent project management qualification or experience
- Epic Certification or other EPR configuration qualification. (Equivalent to a postgraduate qualification)
Knowledge & Nature of Experience
- Extensive knowledge of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes within a hospital environment
- Experience of managing significant operational budgets
- Experience of delivering benefits in a healthcare setting through the implementation of technology
- Experience of managing complex, strategic projects or areas with complex working practices
- Experience of line-managed staff, including performing appraisals
- Previous NHS experience
- Experience of supporting the delivery of benefits and changing management in a healthcare setting
Analytical and Judgement Skills
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of budget management, business case development, financial planning and benefits realisation
- Exceptional analytical and project management skills
- Demonstrable ability to influence, negotiate with executives and motivate senior clinical staff, medical consultants and/or other senior managers
- Ability to resolve problems and make decisions based on complex facts or situations using the appropriate analysis, interpretation or comparison of a range of options
Professional/Managerial/Specialist Knowledge
- Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to lead, manage and motivate several teams into achieving a common goal
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems and highly proficient in standard software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Understanding of Information Governance, SOPs and other governance, national and professional standards of practice or other regulations
- Experience of delivering benefits in a healthcare setting through the implementation of technology
- Experience of Epic or other EPR configuration

- Epic Certification or other EPR configuration qualification
