Specialist Paediatric Radiographer - Angio/IR
Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Radiographer to undertake training in Angiography and Interventional Radiology (IR) and join our dedicated team of skilled, dynamic, and welcoming professionals.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, family-centred imaging service, supporting children, young people, and their families throughout their patient journey. Working within a specialist paediatric environment, the post holder will develop the knowledge and skills required to support a wide range of diagnostic, angiography, and interventional radiology procedures, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective, and responsive patient care.
This is an exciting opportunity for a paediatric radiographer wishing to develop advanced specialist practice within Angiography and Interventional Radiology while working as part of a committed multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing outstanding care for children and families.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Paediatric Radiographer at Birmingham Children's Hospital, you will have the opportunity to rotate through Interventional, Cardiac angiography and General Imaging delivering an efficient service, ensuing a high radiographic standard is delivered whilst adhering to departmental protocols, procedures, and evidence-based guidelines.
This post will require participation in on-call/shift provision as rostered including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications
- BSc Honours Diagnostic Radiography or DCR(R)
- HCPC Registration
- Evidence of CPD
- Evidence of career development
- Evidence of interest in Angio/IR
Knowledge & Nature of Experience
- Evidence of innovation/change that has had a positive effect on patient care
- Experience of forensic imaging
Professional/Managerial/Specialist Knowledge
- Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills including numerical interpretation
- PACS, RIS and IT experience with good Microsoft knowledge
- Proven ability to coordinate staff
- Able to manage resources effectively
- Experience of Staff Appraisal process
- Experience of Preceptorship reviews
