ICT Technical Apprenticeship - ICT Service Team

Job summary

The skills to develop, support and maintain our systems and services are done in house with the help of a highly motivated group of technical specialists.

Following the success of our ongoing apprentice programme we are recruiting again to the post of ICT Technical Apprentice.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will be expected to work in challenging and dynamic environments and will be supported throughout their career in the Trust by experienced staff who will offer coaching and supervision. You will also be provided with a comprehensive induction, and ongoing training.

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust in partnership with the learning provider, will support you to complete a Level 3 ICT Information Telecommunications Apprenticeship. After this, you will be equipped with the necessary skills and experience to be eligible to apply for a permanent post (subject to availability). There also may be an opportunity to study towards a higher level apprenticeship or work flexibly through our temporary staffing bank.

We are continually creating opportunities in locations across Birmingham & Solihull in a wide range of departments and clinical settings. You will need do demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and good communication skills to be selected. You will also be required to function at a Level 2 standard in Literacy and Numeracy, as a minimum requirement.

Person Specification

Training & Qualificatins

Essential
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent
Desirable
  • GCSE maths or English equivalent at level C and above

Knowledge & Experience

Essential
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Packages
  • Ability to use initiative to resolve basic problems
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and consequences of breaking confidentiality.
Desirable
  • Experience of dealing with people, face to face and over the phone to assist with enquiries
  • Lived experience of mental health and wellbeing

Skills

Essential
  • Good verbal communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of data quality - attention to detail
