Inside Sales Executive

Blackdot Solutions: Inside Sales Executive

-------------------------------------------

Working at Blackdot

Blackdot Solutions builds investigations software used by governments, banks, and global organisations including risk consultancies and professional services firms, to solve complex intelligence and financial crime challenges. Our flagship product, Videris, is the industry-leading platform for OSINT collection, analysis, and visualisation. We are now expanding our capabilities with Videris Automate, an evolution of our technology that applies AI-driven orchestration to surface insights, accelerate investigations and deliver repeatable, auditable intelligence workflows. This role will play a direct part in helping customers adopt and succeed with both Videris and Videris Automate. You’ll join a team of smart, curious and mission-driven product, sales and intelligence professionals who care deeply about solving meaningful problems for enterprise clients.

Location

Hybrid (Cambridge office ~2 days/week). Travel to customer sites in UK, Europe and world-wide will be required. You must have the right to work in the UK.

About the role

As an Inside Sales Executive in the Commercial team, you will be responsible for supporting new business growth and helping to maintain and develop relationships with our existing customer base. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, you will be an important point of contact for inbound enquiries and an active contributor to outbound prospecting and pipeline development. This role is well suited to someone who is early in their sales career and looking to develop within a fast-paced, high-growth software business, or an experienced inside sales professional who enjoys a varied, customer-facing role.

You will develop a strong working knowledge of Videris and Videris Automate, our AI-powered investigative automation solution, enabling you to have credible and informed conversations with prospects and customers across professional services and corporate markets.

Responsibilities

You will be accountable for both retention and growth across your assigned book of business and territory. Your responsibilities fall into two areas; existing customer ownership and new business.

Existing Customer Ownership & Renewals

  • Own a defined portfolio of existing customers, acting as the primary commercial contact and owner for renewals and upsell opportunities
  • Maintain and improve Net Revenue Retention (NRR) across your accounts, proactively identifying renewal risk and addressing it well in advance of contract milestones
  • Build a strong understanding of customer use cases, investigative workflows and success criteria, and clearly articulate ongoing value
  • Lead renewal conversations and commercial negotiations, with support from senior colleagues where appropriate
  • Acting as the product subject matter expert as relates to your customers’ use cases
  • Planning and delivering high-quality training sessions to new and existing customers according to their needs
  • Build trusted, professional relationships with users and key stakeholders across your accounts

New Business

  • Own new business opportunities within your territory, with accountability for qualification, progression and close
  • Conducting outbound prospecting campaigns through targeted calling, email outreach, and research into target accounts and contacts
  • Run full, end-to-end structured sales cycles from discovery, to demos, contract negotiations and close.
  • Deliver clear, use case led product demonstrations of Videris, tailoring discussions to investigative and analytical needs (leveraging SMEs where required)
  • Work with Marketing to follow up on inbound campaigns, events and leads, retaining personal ownership of conversion to pipeline and revenue
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and deal hygiene in CRM

About you

We are looking for a motivated person who is eager to build a career in sales and is genuinely excited about the market Blackdot operates in. You might come from a commercial background or an intelligence or investigations discipline; what matters most is that you are confident engaging with people, well-organised, and hungry to learn and contribute from day one.

You will ideally bring:

  • A degree in any discipline, or early commercial experience in a sales, account management, or customer-facing role — ideally within a technology or SaaS environment.
  • An interest in or exposure to intelligence, investigations, financial crime, or OSINT, whether through study, work experience, or personal curiosity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage professionals at all levels.
  • A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with OSINT techniques or tools, and/or experience using a CRM platform, are both advantageous but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in how AI and automation are reshaping investigations and compliance workflows.

Benefits

You’ll enjoy:

· Competitive salary with regular pay reviews

· 25 days’ holiday and the flexibility to carry over

· The chance to work with some of the best people in the business

· Strong work-life balance & flexible working

· Professional development days & role-specific training
