Technology Director

Blair West are supporting a high-growth investor-backed pet food manufacturer and ecommerce retailer in the appointment of a Technology Director. This is a high impact leadership role where you will shape the technology strategy of a scaling, product led business. This role offers the opportunity to take real ownership of the technology function within a growing and internationally expanding business. You will be able to shape strategy, influence key decisions and build a team and platform that supports long term success. Your work will have visible impact across the organisation, directly supporting growth, efficiency, and customer experience.

The opportunity:

• Set the direction for technology, architecture and platform evolution.
• Lead engineering, infrastructure and IT functions.
• Ensure systems remain scalable, reliable and secure as the business grows.
• Build and develop a high-performing technology team culture.
• Drive strong engineering practices across development and delivery.
• Own platform performance, infrastructure and resilience.
• Lead on cybersecurity, data protection and risk management.
• Parter with product and operational teams to enable business growth.
• Define and action strategic decisions on build versus buy.
• Explore opportunities to adopt AI and automation to improve pace and efficiency.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

• Experience leading technology or engineering functions in a growing business.
• Strong understanding of modern software development and architecture.
• Experience with internally built platforms such as ERP or subscription systems.
• A product led mindset with the ability to align technology with commercial goals.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to balance long term strategy with delivery pace.
