You will work closely with stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors to ensure user insight is translated into clear, high-quality design outputs.

  • Lead the user-centred design approach for an assigned value chain, ensuring agreed outcomes are met.
  • Conduct and oversee user research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, and other design artefacts.
  • Apply the right UX approach depending on project scope and delivery model, including Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid.
  • Oversee UX resources where available and ensure consistent design standards and delivery quality.
  • Track progress, manage change variances, and report UX risks and metrics.
  • Lead on a specialist UX area such as user research, design systems, or journey management.
  • Develop and maintain key artefacts such as user journeys, design principles, personas, risk logs, and governance materials.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support prioritisation, reporting, and change management.
  • Produce status reports, governance packs, and other programme-level UX inputs.
  • Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, insight reviews, and governance meetings as required.
  • Act as Journey Coordinator within the journey group.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong experience in UX leadership, user-centred design, or service design.
  • Proven ability to run and oversee user research using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Experience producing wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, and other UX artefacts.
  • Comfort working across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience tracking UX risks, reporting metrics, and supporting governance processes.
  • Ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on with delivery.
  • Experience contributing to or improving a wider UX framework or maturity model.
  • Strong facilitation skills for workshops, kick-offs, and collaborative sessions.

  • Strong knowledge of user research, design systems, or journey management.
  • Experience building shared UX standards and reusable artefacts across multiple teams.
  • Confident presenting evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
