Blue Arrow is urgently recruiting for a Software Engineer to join our clients growing Automotive Manufacturing team based in the Llanelli area.Contract : PermanentSalary : Up to £40,000p.aHours of work : 37 hours per week: Mon-Thurs 8:30-17:00 & Fridays 9:00-15:00Travel expected: Cannock in West Midlands and Germany (infrequently)Job Summary:Our client is seeking an experienced automotive Software Engineers to join their existing team. The post involves designing and developing software in the fields of diagnostics, electric vehicles, and industrial installations to support our position as one of the leading companies in the battery remanufacturing, test, and recycling sectors.This position entails periodic travel to Cannock in the West Midlands, and Germany. Accordingly, possession of a full, clean driving license is a mandatory requirement for the role.Key Responsibilities:Creating and documenting requirementsCarrying out updates on existing codebaseCreating new software productsCreating test plans, implementing and documenting resultsSupport colleagues with advice and sharing of knowledgeSome travel to other UK sites, USA, Europe and China may also be requiredVersioning & storing source code in accordance with company management systems (GIT)Essential Knowledge and Experience:Knowledge of a .net language (C#, VB.net) - Able to independently build windows forms/WPF applicationsKnowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, SPI, SCPI, CAN, and other automotive/Industrial protocolsElectronics/Electrical knowledge supporting EV testingWorking with version control systemsPerform unit tests and debug own codeEducated to Degree Level (Electronics, Computer Science, Maths with Computing)A full UK Driving License (clean record)- essentialDesirable Attributes:Experience of the following would be advantageous:Trained to test hazardous voltageAdditional programming languagesPassion for continuous improvement and lean methodologiesComfortable working in a fast-paced, operationally focused environmentPersonal Attributes:Excellent communication skills both written & verbalAbility and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas and technologiesAbility to work in a team orientated, collaborative environmentAbility to prioritise and execute tasks in a highly demanding environmentIf you feel you are the right candidate for this role then please submit your CV for immediate response.Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.TPBN1_UKTJ
