Network Security Engineer

As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for skilled professionals to join our Cynergy Services team.
The purpose of this role is to provide security consultancy and engineering services to Blue Cube Security customers, delivering security designs and building new security infrastructure helping to assist customers with the delivery of new functionality and service improvements. You will have design authority responsibilities for some elements of security infrastructure and be responsible for implementing those designs. This role also provides a critical issue function to assist with the resolution of complex problems and address any inherent design issues. You will bring expertise across a wide range of information security domains, with a particular emphasis on network security technologies.
For this role, you will report to the Technology Services Manager and play a key part in shaping and delivering our cyber security strategy. This is a hybrid position, with one day per week required in our East Grinstead office and flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week. You will also be expected to attend meetings at customer sites, vendor locations or the East Grinstead office, depending on project requirements and business needs.
Duties and responsibilities- Implementation of security infrastructure across customer environments, both remotely and on-site within the UK, with occasional international engagements.
- Provide security design, guidance, and technical expertise for customer projects, ensuring solutions align with best practices and project objectives.
- Provide pre-sales assistance to our business development and sales teams.
- Ensure documentation of all security infrastructure provided is relevant and up to date.
- Assist with the resolution of security issues and act as an escalation point for our internal support team. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in implementing and supporting security solutions, with a strong understanding of core principles across network and infrastructure security.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, actively sharing knowledge of technologies and security practices with the wider business to build awareness and identify opportunities to expand future capabilities.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in cyber security or network engineering.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Knowledge of leading vendor security technologies with experience in vendor products such as Fortinet, Qualys, Trend Micro, Thales or Imperva (desirable).
- Working knowledge of cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services.
- Awareness of industry standards and frameworks including NIST, and UK specific schemes such as the NCSC’s Cyber Assessment Framework and Cyber Essentials (desirable).
