Data Analyst 12 Month FTC
As a Data Analyst within the Business Development team, you will play a key role in turning data into meaningful commercial insight. You will be responsible for analysing and managing complex datasets, enhancing reporting processes and developing more efficient and automated ways of working to support informed strategic decision-making.
Working closely with stakeholders across Business Development, Operations and Planning, you will help identify trends, opportunities and efficiencies that can contribute to the firm’s wider growth objectives. You will also play an important role in translating business requirements into practical reporting solutions and ensuring that data is presented clearly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Gather, consolidate and manage data from multiple sources, ensuring a high level of accuracy, consistency and reliability.
- Work closely with Business Development, Operations and Planning teams to understand reporting, analytics and process requirements.
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, opportunities and efficiencies that support business and strategic decision-making.
- Work with stakeholders to identify appropriate data sources and establish clear reporting requirements, workflows and processes.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, practical and user-friendly reporting solutions.
- Develop and improve processes to automate reporting, reduce manual activity and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with Data Visualisation Designers and Analysts to define data requirements and ensure reporting solutions meet business needs.
- Develop meaningful reports, dashboards and analysis that provide stakeholders with clear and actionable insight.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Investigate data issues, inconsistencies and anomalies, undertaking detailed analysis or data forensics where required.
- Support the development of efficient, repeatable and automated reporting processes across the function.
- Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity and governance.
- Identify opportunities to improve the quality, efficiency and commercial value of data and reporting.
- Keep up to date with developments in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting technologies and best practice.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, using data to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for a data-focused, analytical and commercially aware professional who can work confidently with complex datasets while understanding the wider business context behind the numbers.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience using data analysis and business intelligence tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Proven experience collecting, cleansing, analysing and managing data from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear and actionable insights.
- Experience working with reporting processes, data workflows and process mapping.
- Experience investigating data discrepancies, anomalies and quality issues.
- The ability to work confidently with both structured and unstructured datasets.
- Experience translating business requirements into reporting, analytics or data solutions.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- An understanding of data visualisation principles and experience working alongside dashboard developers or data visualisation specialists.
