Technical Support Engineer
Warrington | 6-month FTC | Full-time | Driving licence required
We're looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join a friendly, fast-paced IT team providing essential 1st and 2nd line support across multiple sites. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid desktop support experience and a genuine interest in learning more about modern infrastructure, cloud technologies, and IT service management.
You'll be handling day-to-day support queries, maintaining systems, and helping users across the business with everything from login issues to Office 365 and connectivity problems. There’s also scope to get involved in wider IT projects, documentation, and systems maintenance.
What you'll be doing:
- Acting as the first point of contact for IT support requests (1st/2nd line)
- Supporting end users across Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint
- Using PDQ, remote access tools and helpdesk systems to resolve issues efficiently
- Assisting with device builds, software deployments, updates and patching
- Supporting on-site hardware setups and liaising with other IT teams where needed
- Contributing to asset tracking and updating IT documentation
- Working to ITIL-aligned processes and helping improve service quality
Tech you'll be exposed to:
- Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint
- Azure Active Directory
- Windows Server, VMware virtualisation
- Networking (Meraki/Unifi), site connectivity, SD-WAN
- Backup tools (Veeam, Altaro), antivirus (Sophos, Forcepoint)
- Telephony systems (Teams, 8x8)
- Ticketing systems and basic ITIL practices
What you'll bring:
- Experience in a 1st/2nd line support role
- Good troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Windows OS
- Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to a collaborative team
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to regional offices when needed
