Trainee Information Analyst
Job summary
We currently have two vacancies for Trainee Information Analysts within the Team. The posts will commence as a Band 4 progressing to a Band 5, as you work through the progression framework.
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Team Leader and with supervision from the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, the post holder will provide reports, analysis, interpretation advice and guidance on complex, multi stranded data to support Divisional senior managers in their decision-making processes.
The post holder will be responsible for the submission of statutory returns in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures.
You will be working in a small team. We hybrid work with a blend of onsite and working from home. We are based in the office a minimum of two days per week.
Main duties of the job
1. Production of performance monitoring reports.
2. Production and submission of statutory returns.
3. Production and development of reports, scorecards and dashboards, including ad hoc reporting requests, in order to support decision-making.
4. Production of benchmarking, forecasting and trend analysis reports.
5. Monitoring, investigation and resolution of data quality issues.
6. Automation of labour-intensive processes.

Job responsibilities
You will be trained and developed to be able to perform the following duties:
- To produce performance analysis, necessary to meet the delivery of national and local monitoring requirements in line with relevant NHS guidance and the delivery of modernised, evidence based services throughout the organisation.
- To investigate and analyse highly complex data with multiple, sensitive outcomes.
- To deal with statistical / analytical queries, assessing whether analyses are robust e.g. investigating data anomalies identified during analyses, instigating corrective action as required.
- Provide specialist knowledge and expertise across many areas of NHS information and policy.
- To provide support in the form of coaching and training sessions to colleagues within the organisation, including the access and interpretation of data and information.
- To generate, manipulate and formulate data into clear, concise reports which are adjusted to the needs of the recipient, from highly complex to simple reports.
- To build strong effective working relationships inside the organisation.
- To design and recommend improvement measures and set up reporting mechanisms to capture relevant data on the required basis.
- To provide advice to individual project teams on collecting, reporting, analysing and using collected data.
- To maintain a work plan for own area of responsibility which is regularly reviewed and revised, in conjunction with customers, in order to reflect complex and changing organisational priorities, which contributes to overarching departmental work programme.
- To document and maintain standard operating procedures for all routine tasks and processes within own area of responsibility.
