A global banking group is seeking an AVP-level Actimize AML Technology Lead to join its Financial Crime technology function. This is a techno-functional leadership role for a candidate who combines strong hands-on engineering capability with a solid understanding of AML operations and regulatory requirements.

Actimize is the core AML platform, and you will take ownership of the end-to-end architecture and delivery of multiple AML initiatives, working closely with Compliance, Infrastructure, and wider Technology teams.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of technology and business. You will be responsible for designing the full solution architecture, leading delivery across three concurrent AML projects, and ensuring solutions meet both technical and regulatory expectations.

This role requires a strong technical background with deep understanding of Python- and SQL-based AML systems, as well as the ability to guide teams, review designs, and challenge technical decisions. You will also engage heavily with business and AML stakeholders to translate screening and monitoring requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as technical and functional lead for Actimize-based AML initiatives, with end-to-end ownership from design through delivery.
• Design and own the full architecture across AML screening, data ingestion, integrations, and downstream systems.
• Lead and oversee delivery of three parallel AML projects, managing technical dependencies and delivery outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership across Python- and SQL-heavy implementations, setting standards and reviewing solution designs.
• Ensure AML screening logic, data models, and workflows align with regulatory and business requirements.
• Work closely with Infrastructure, Network, and Server teams to ensure environments support AML workloads, performance, and resilience.
• Oversee integration patterns, APIs, and batch/real-time processing across the AML ecosystem.
• Act as a bridge between AML business users, Compliance, and Engineering teams, translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Support and evolve the bank's Actimize AML platform as the primary screening and monitoring system.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong technology background with proven experience in a techno-functional AML role.
• Hands-on experience with Actimize as the primary AML screening and/or transaction monitoring platform.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Solid understanding of AML screening concepts, workflows, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience designing end-to-end system architecture in complex financial environments.
• Good working knowledge of infrastructure components, including servers, networks, and environments.
• Experience owning and delivering multiple projects simultaneously, end to end.
• Comfortable engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
